EXENT TECHNOLOGIES LICENSES ITS APPLICATIONS-ON-DEMAND TECHNOLOGY TO FUJITSU
Fujitsu to launch "Applications on the Fly (AppFly)" June 10th using Exent Technologies solution
Bethesda, Md., May 28, 2002 - Exent Technologies announced
today the license agreement of their industry leading Applications-on-Demand
(AoD) software technology to Fujitsu. This agreement will allow Fujitsu
to market and sell its outsourcing services based on Exent Technologies'
software to their current and new clients enabling the organization
to stream PC executable files over the Internet or network to an individual
computer. This agreement marks Exent Technologies entrance into the
Application Deployment and Management (ADM) for the business environment.
The "Applications on the Fly (AppFly)" solution from Fujitsu
will be marketed to Internet Service Providers, Content Service Providers,
Independent Software Vendors, and corporate enterprises as a way to
provide desktop applications via a streaming technology. This solution
allows the organization a way to act as an Applications Service Provider
for their desktop solutions without having to install the software
and maintain each personal computer separately. Additionally, it will
keep the software up-to-date, prevent illegal copies of the application,
and reduce overall support costs.
"Fujitsu intends to become a market leader in the AoD market
and we believe that our service based on Exent's technology will get
us there," says Takashi Yamada, General Manager of Comprehensive
Outsourcing, Network Services Group of Fujitsu. "We chose Exent
after evaluating and benchmarking Exent vis-à-vis its competitors.
We believe that Exent's technology is the best in the market and most
suitable for Fujitsu's needs."
"We are pleased to work with Fujitsu to provide an Applications-on-Demand
solution for the corporate environment," said Zvi Levgoren of
Exent Technologies. "This is just our first step into the corporate
environment and are glad to be working with such a strong leader in
the IT solutions marketplace."
